To make our CBD oil tinctures, we use either broad spectrum CBD or CBD isolate—two of the three types of CBD. The main difference between these two is their chemical composition. Broad spectrum CBD retains the plant’s aromatic terpenes and flavonoids, with a refined cannabinoid profile that carries undetectable levels of THC (cannabis’ iconic psychoactive cannabinoid). CBD isolate, on the other hand, carries 99% CBD and doesn’t offer any additional plant matter, like terpenes, flavonoids, or cannabinoids—only the effects of pure CBD.

Full spectrum CBD oil is the hemp oil that is initially extracted from the plant, containing all the cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and healthy fatty acids. This includes tiny trace amounts of THC. Some prefer not to use a CBD oil product that contains any THC, and so when detectable levels of THC are filtered out, the resulting oil is called broad spectrum CBD oil. CBD isolate is CBD with all other plant matter removed, leaving behind only 99% pure CBD.
Only CBD products below the THC threshold of less than 0.2% are legal in the UK. This means that true full spectrum CBD, which can contain up to 0.3% THC, is illegal. Broad spectrum CBD, therefore, is the most potent CBD you can buy in the UK.
All of our CBD UK products contain less than 0.2% THC, which is too little to be psychoactive. Therefore, our cannabis oils cannot get you high.
