Maintaining healthy, vibrant skin starts with a skincare routine tailored to you. Whether it’s to rehydrate, soften, tone, purify, or moisturise, skincare products come in a wide array of options. Recently, many adults in the UK have found ways to include hemp-derived CBD products in their skincare routines. These CBD skincare products offer a list of benefits for your complexion, but which one is best for you?** Simply find CBD skincare products with high-quality ingredients that meet your goals.
For instance, if moisturising your skin is your goal, consider a CBD Calming Balm. Or, if you want to start treating your skin to a little TLC, a CBD bath bomb with organic ingredients, like eucalyptus and spearmint oils, might be perfect for your routine.**
It all comes down to your own goals and preferences. Sounds simple, right? For some, it can be. Other adults might have a harder time incorporating CBD topicals. Don’t worry––we’re here to help!
What Is CBD?
CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a chemical compound in the cannabinoid family. These molecules are native to hemp and cannabis plants. Other notable cannabinoids include CBG, CBN, CBC, and THC (the cannabinoid responsible for cannabis’s “high”).
CBD is not intoxicating, while THC is. CBD interacts with your body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS is a network of receptors that span across the body, working to maintain homeostasis, or balance. This system plays an important role in sleep, appetite, energy, and mood. When cannabinoids interact with these receptors, they bolster the system’s efforts, inciting a wave of therapeutic effects.**
The Difference Between Full-Spectrum CBD, Broad Spectrum CBD & CBD Isolate
It’s essential to know the CBD type inside your product of choice. There are three types of CBD: full spectrum, broad spectrum, and CBD isolate.
At the beginning of our extraction process, the first kind of CBD we make is full spectrum CBD. This CBD carries the hemp plant’s full cannabinoid profile and aromatic properties, including the plant’s terpenes and flavonoids. Terpenes give the plant its taste and smell, while flavonoids create its colour. But these two compounds also come with their own therapeutic effects, too.**
It’s important to note that most true full-spectrum CBD products are prohibited in the UK. Our laws state a CBD product must have less than 0.2% THC. Even with hemp’s naturally low THC levels (less than 0.3%), full-spectrum CBD can have too much THC to stay within the bounds of the law.
But, if we strip THC molecules down to undetectable levels, we make broad-spectrum CBD. This CBD still has the plant’s terpenes, flavonoids, and non-THC cannabinoids.
The last type of CBD we can make is CBD isolate. This CBD is 99% cannabidiol and contains no additional organic compounds like terpenes or flavonoids.
How Topical CBD Works
Cannabinoids from edible health supplements, like CBD gummies, absorb into your body through your digestive tract. With CBD vapes, cannabinoids filter in through your lungs. Topical CBD products are different. Instead of filtering through your bloodstream, topical cannabinoids absorb through your skin directly. Here, they bypass the bloodstream and go straight into the underlying tissues, where they promote their calming effects.**
CBD Topicals for Your Skincare Routine
There are many different types of CBD topicals. Each one can benefit your skincare routine. Knowing the difference between each will help you make an informed decision while incorporating CBD into your routine.
CBD Face Masks
Face masks are popular products for most skincare routines. They’re easy to apply, and they let you press pause to focus on relaxation. Depending on the formula, a face mask can be the perfect way to start or end your day.
Our CBD face masks offer a unique experience and leave your skin feeling softer, smoother, and happier. Place one sheet mask on your face and let the active botanicals work, relax, and soothe your complexion for the next 10 minutes.
Taking care of your skin doesn’t just include your face. Other areas of your body need a little focused attention, too. Our CBD creams spread the love by introducing high-quality CBD and other healthful ingredients to your skin. For instance, our CBD Muscle & Joint Cooling Cream uses hemp-derived CBD and ingredients like white willow bark and caffeine to soothe minor aches and pains, while creating a cooling sensation.**
We also carry a CBD + CBG Muscle & Joint Heating Cream that uses an even ratio of CBD and CBG as well as camphor oil to create a gentle heating sensation in your target areas.**
CBD balms are rub-on products that easily slip into any gym bag or backpack. Just remove the cap and apply the balm directly to your target area.
We currently have our Calming CBD Balm. This balm stick boasts 250mg of CBD and shea butter, Roman chamomile oil, lavender, and tea tree oil—perfect for soothing and nurturing your skin.
Our Muscle & Joint CBD Balm Stick uses a similar formula but with peppermint, wintergreen, and camphor oil to complement CBD’s soothing effects.
